Euclid Chemical Joins Leading Researchers in Fiber Reinforced Concrete at ACI-fib Workshop

In July, the world’s leading researchers in fiber reinforced concrete gathered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for the joint ACI-fib International Workshop on “Fibre Reinforced Concrete: from Design to Structural Applications.” Several representatives from Euclid Chemical attended the 2-day workshop, which was hosted by Polytecnique University, Montreal.

Over 110 participants from 23 countries were represented with 52 paper presentations made on subjects ranging from FRC modelling, test methods and new applications in tunnels, precast segments and buildings. Euclid Chemical was the only synthetic fiber company present and was also a “Silver Sponsor” for the event. At the conclusion of the workshop, a forum discussing standardized testing, additional design tools, publication of applications and new research was identified as the principal future needs of the fiber reinforced concrete industry.
